Research Manager | Veterinary Innovation and OVC Clinical Trials

Expertise: Pre-Clinical Research and Animal Models, Research Administration, Clinical Data Management, Veterinary Clinical Trials, Social Media Content Curation

As Veterinary Innovation Program Research Manager, Charly is responsible for the daily operations and projects for the Innovation Program and Clinical Translation Platform connecting these with the OVC Clinical Trials program, when applicable.

She is very interested in research where companion animals can be used as a naturally occurring disease model in humans. This has been integral in her work role, as well as her research in both her Masters and PhD. 


Natalie Mashtaler | RVT, BSc

Clinical Trials and Research Technician | Veterinary Innovation

Expertise: Veterinary Technical Skills and Animal Husbandry

Natalie completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph where she received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology. She continued her education at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus, where she graduated with distinction from the Veterinary Technology Program and obtained her registration the same year. Natalie gained a wealth of knowledge working at a small animal general/emergency practice in Guelph that handled both exotic and companion animals. Since then, Natalie has had the opportunity to advance her training and develop her skill set by working alongside a variety of board-certified specialists in the Guelph and Mississauga-Oakville region, in departments such as dentistry, oncology and dermatology.


Samantha Dobson | DVMc

Ontario Work Study Program | Veterinary Innovation

Sam is a student at the Ontario Veterinary College and is set to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2023. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in small animal medicine and is considering a small animal rotating internship. She has a particular interest in the field of oncology. In her spare time, Sam enjoys hiking with her dog Lola and playing fetch with her rescue kitty Jeff.
